Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Mental Health Clinician
We are seeking to hire a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our collegial clinical team. Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist may also apply. Unlicensed individuals pursuing licensure will be considered for the positions as well. Northland Counseling Center is an approved National Health Service Corps site eligible for loan repayment. Northland Counseling Center is Rule 29 Community Mental Health Center serving Koochiching County. We currently provide a broad range of safe and effective, outpatient mental health services as a Trauma Informed Care Mental Health Center including: assessment, evaluations and testing; individual, couples, family, and group therapy; as well as specialized services for individuals with serious and persistent mental health issues.
Primary duties of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Mental Health Clinician include: conducting diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, psychotherapy; coordination of care, complete clinical documentation consistent with professional standards and managed care contracts; attend weekly clinical staff meeting and case consultation meeting; maintain compliance with licensing board rules Code of Ethics, and agency standards.
- Completion of graduate degree by start of employment and in pursuit of license
- Experience with DSM-V diagnoses
- Experience completing required paperwork efficiently
- Ability to work collegially with other professionals and staff
- Flexible and adaptive
- Ability to stay calm and think clearly under stress and when faced with crises
- Licensed in the state of Minnesota by respective board
- Trauma Informed Care experience

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work within our Community Rehabilitation and Support Services Program approximately 10-15 hours per week. Primary duties include medication setup, calling in refills, providing education about how to take medication as prescribed by providers, assisting client in improving medication compliance and understanding of medication.
This position allows individuals to live more independently in the community with greater stability in their mental health. Schedule is flexible in that LPN may choose preferred work hours for what is necessary to complete responsibilities. Time commitment may vary depending on client needs and efficiency of LPN. Hours will not exceed 15 per week while weekly pay rate will remain consistent. Must maintain active license in Minnesota. Past experience working with people with mental illness preferable. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and keep accurate, timely records of contacts with clients.
