Directions

If entering International Falls from the south on Minnesota Highway 53 and traveling northbound: turn west on 5th St. Drive 9 blocks. The Backus Community Center is on the right (North) side of the street.

If entering International Falls from the west on Minnesota Highway 11 & 71 and traveling eastbound: continue to 11th Ave and turn right (South); then make a quick left onto 5th St. Travel through the first stop sign and the Backus Community Center is on the left (North) side of the street.

If entering International Falls from the east on Minnesota Highway 11 and traveling westbound: continue to 9th Ave and turn left (South). Proceed to the first stop sign and then make a right onto 5th St. The Backus Community Center is on the right (North) side of the street.

Parking and handicapped accessibility

The Backus Community Center and AB School complex consists of 2 multistory red brick buildings, located between 9th and 10th avenues. Parking is on the streets or any of the lots surrounding the complex, with parking on the northwest corner of the complex reserved for Northland Counseling Center. The west side entrance of the Backus building, just past “The Dungeon” sign, is the most convenient for handicap accessibility and for use of the elevator. Northland Counseling Center is located on the east end of the 3rd floor.
